An evening of musical fun to benefit Baltimore's homeless
Dear Friends,
For most of us, a new year is all about new beginnings…new resolutions…and hope for the future.
But every night here in Maryland, thousands of men, women and children are homeless – and hopeless. In Baltimore City, as many as one in six citizens are dealing with the pain of substance abuse – affecting the lives of family, friends and co-workers as well as their own.
For these individuals, reality is being cold, hungry and desperate – desperate to find answers in the face of challenges that just seem overwhelming.
Jobs, Housing & Recovery, Inc. (JHR) is here to help.
24 hours a day, 365 days a year, JHR is working to rebuild lives shattered by homelessness and addiction – and every life reclaimed from addiction makes Baltimore a better place in which to live and work. Our programs serve more than 600 men and women daily, and we rely on the support of our friends in the community to sustain us in this mission.
I’m writing today to ask your help. On Tuesday June 4, 2013, JHR will host Charm City Karaoke 2013 at the beautiful Cylburn Arboretum, a celebrity karaoke night to benefit homeless citizens of Baltimore whom we serve. This festive evening of musical fun will feature celebrity karaoke performances, great food, dancing and live and silent auctions. It promises to be a night to remember!
I hope you can join us on June 4th!! Tickets are $75 each, and $50 of this amount is tax deductible. Check out our photos from last year’s event. It was great fun!
